Blessing from the Father
Part 5:
In the midst of the trial I was experiencing at the shelter, God was preparing for a grand blessing through a friend who would put up the funds for me to stay in a hotel room! I simply showed him the blog posts from the previous parts in the blog, and he was moved to be intensely generous to provide me a restful place to recollect my thoughts and be out of the chaotic environment!
I checked into the hotel room in a bit of a daze, not really realizing that I had been in a spiritual war zone until a few days into the hotel relaxation. Usually, when people are evangelizing and speaking truth into situations, they would have a peaceful home base to retreat to in order to recharge. This is not possible in a community shelter as it could be more compared to being behind enemy lines.
When speaking into people's lives and personalizing scriptural truth to apply to people's situations, it can stir up complex emotions and even hostile intentions and motives, as some will beguile and reject advice. The anxiety of being trapped in these scenarios can be unnerving. Thankfully, the peace of the Lord is fresh every morning, and it only serves to deepen the Holy Spirit-filled believer's faith in the refuge of our great and merciful Father.
As I was staying in the hotel, I needed to go back to the shelter to collect some belongings and ran into a few of the believers that I had encouraged, and it was very reassuring that the Lord had really used me to speak encouragement into them, as they were astonished by the blessing and were sad to see me go. The real blessing for me was being able to bond with them in our shared time of need. Refreshing each other as we communed in fellowship!
Sometimes, we do not know how much the Lord has impacted us until we say goodbye!
I am extraordinarily blessed to have shelter and others helping to support me in my time of need. Please keep those who are hurting in your prayers that they will turn their will and their life over to the protection and love of our heavenly Father and accept His Son as their Lord!
